There was a fair amount of discussion about this sale and the cliff over at neclimbs.com. This would be wonderful to keep this area accessable to climbers and the public in general.
 
Are these the cliffs in Oliverian Notch, just west of Glenclif on Route 25? IIRC, it is very swampy between the cliffs and the road, but the cliffs are really sensational. I didn't realize it was private land since everything else around there is WMNF.
 
I also thought this was in the NF.

There is an extensive view of not much from the top of the cliffs, and I found an old USFS ceramic trail marker N of the summit so there was presumably a trail there once.
