From today's Boston Herald
Two hikers from Pennsylvania got caught on Mt. Jefferson, no headlamps, maps or compass. The article doesn't mention weather or injuries as a reason for the event. A six hour rescue, after which the hikers were asking about being charged for the rescue. I think this is what the reckless hiker law was all about.
