May 10-11

May 10 over Mt Greylock from N. Adams to Cheshire. Trail in excellent, dry condition. No significant blowdowns. Last fall's leaves are a bit slippery on the steep slope up from North Adams. Twenty people and two dogs seen before summit, a dozen or more people at the top, and 6 on descending into Cheshire.

Using BRTA bus service is a great way to day hike these sections (note - it doesn't run on Sundays), goes once an hour (leaves from the AT message board) from Cheshire to N. Adams, ask for a transfer to catch the bus toward Williamstown and ask driver to lket you off at the AT crossing.

May 11 hike from Rte 2 in N Adsams to the Vt line and back. Trails in perfect shape. Easy to pick out blazes way up ahead when the trees haven't leafed out yet.

Met Dozer both days on his AT thru-hike - he left Springer on Jan 31st.
