Beautiful hike on a relocated former route of the AT that leaves from Baker Road. This hike is in the new AMC Guide book on p. 319-320. This trail is five years old and a great alternative hike to the AT. Trail goes up gradually and then there were great switchbacks and a nice view to the West. Saw loads of trout lilies, hobblebush, painted trillium, goldthread in flower, etc. Lightly used, as we only saw nine people during the trip. Great views from the South peak. Always fun to explore a new trail with friends!
