Date of Hike: 6/8/08
Trail Conditions: Trail to Starr King is perfect. Much drier than usual. A couple of fresh blowdowns on stretch between the peaks. Parking lot was full by 9AM, but most of their inhabitants did NOT do the out-and-back to Waumbek.
Special Equipment Required: Bug juice, if you intend to sit for a bit. They are not a problem if you keep moving. Stilts, if you want a view from Starr King.
Comments: Hazy, hot and humid. This must be July. The ground cover and deep greens on the ridge between the peaks are pleasures, more than making up for the disappearing views.
