Trail Conditions: Overnight rain made ascent of ledges up Bemis Peak 1 a bit slippery. The ledges were partially dry on descent, but required caution as always. Great conditions otherwise, thanks to the fine efforts of the trail crew, clearing many blowsdowns. No snow.
Special equipment required: None, but care required on ledges.
Comments: I do this hike about 4-5 times each year, as it is only 2.2 miles from my camp. It is just a great hike with expansive views from peak 2 summit and ridge of most of the western ME NE 100 Highest peaks, the Rangeley Lakes and the Tumbledown/Jackson range. Good workout too. No bugs today, as it was cool and breezy
