recent bear activity

Just wondering if the recent warmer temps and rain(until this week), have postponed the bears winter rest. Since food is still available, and it hasn't been too cold, i suspect hibernation may have been delayed.
Anyone out there have a recent encounter that can shed light on this?

I am planning on a trip up to Deerland lean-to on the Racquette River next week and am curious about what i can expect bear-wise. Plus i am just curious.

I stayed at one of the Flowed Lands lean-to's for three nights about 2 weeks ago and had no bear activity at all. There was snow on the ground so I would have seen any tracks if one had been around. From my best recollection, the lean-to log didn't report any activity after early November.

A couple of very cute pine martens that would gladly help themselves to an easy meal though...
