Group of 8 started up the access road around 8:00. Temps around 12 with light breeze. Made steady progress until tree line then extremely windy. Donned full gear and made it into trees and quickly found spur trail to AT. Whew!
Trail showed signs of recent use, but blown in in many places. Relatively easy traverse to Spaulding and back.
Wind even worse on the way back! Could not stand up straight. Touched top and staggered into summit building which was open. Quickly descended below tree line and wind abated.
Snowshoes all the way.
