Spider ID?

After raising three girls, I was used to hearing "Eeeek, Daddy come and kill the spider!" This time it was my wife who said, "Duane, you might want to take a look at this spider." Since she isn't prone to exaggeration, I took a look very quickly. I've attached two pictures of the spider. The phone connection box in the pictures is two inches wide. The white spot is a reflection from the camera flash.

Can anyone ID this guy? Thanks.

Any big spider in NH could be a dock spider. Can't tell from the photo, but did it have striped legs? I would guess that reflection are its eyes.
 
No, it seemed to be all black. It's interesting that the third set of legs (from the front) go straight out from the body and it didn't have a bulbous body. The closest resemblance I've found is simply "Black Spider"
