Date of Hike: 8/10/13
Trails: Firewardens, AT, Horns Pond as a loop
Trail Conditions: Good trails. Upper Firewardens Trail with long stretch of rock steps
Special Equipment Required: Broke in a new pair of HanWag boots (German) and used poles (I don't usually use poles)
Comments: Road crew cut overhanging branches on the road in to Stratton Brook Pond - nice and open. The view from Avery Peak to Flagstaff Lake is really special. This is a nice loop, and going out by way of Horns Pond Trail is a nice gradual downhill with no steeps. Many northbound AT thru hikers.
