Date of Hike: 10-5-13
Trail Conditions: Water crossing were pretty easy and the trails weren't too muddy until the area near the junction of the Cedar Brook Trail and Hancock Loop Trail. The trail is becoming eroded due to folks using the "banks" of the trail to avoid the mud. A few more bog bridges would be just the ticket. I opted to go counter clockwise and ascend S. Hancock first. The steep final ascent is in better shape than the last time I was there.
Special Equipment Required: None
Comments: For the second time this year I ran into my good friends SteveR, HA, and Kibo, the wonder dog, on a summit within minutes of the ascent. If not for a change of socks I would have not run into them as they got a 10 minute later start than I. We both made great time individually. It took me 2 hours and 11 minutes to reach both peaks and they covered the distance a few minutes faster.
The weather held and it was another great day to be in the Whites.
