Trails: Glencliff Trail and Carriage Road
Trail Conditions: trails were very hard packed from TH to summit. Very little ice, no blowdowns. A hard snow sidewalk.
Special Equipment: I barebooted for a mile or less until I put on light traction for grip. Snowshoes stayed on the pack. Trail was packed enough to run. Cold and wind protection above treeline.
Comments: great day for a hike of the Moose. 10 F on summit with maybe a 10 mph breeze. Cold enough to duck behind a cairn but there was no rush to do it. Hung on the summit for ten minutes before visiting the south peak and heading out. Although hiking solo today, I saw 30-40 others and that was with a late 10:30 start. Trail conditions don't get easier than this.
