Pillsbury Mountain, Adirondacks firetower?

I climbed Pillsbury three years ago and the tower was in good shape then. I haven't heard of any change since.

I was there this fall, and the firetower was fine. The access road near mason lake was still closed as of last saturday(4-30). Might want to drop the redional DEC office a call for the opening date. The last part of the drive was a little dicey, to the parking area. My subaru made it, as did a VW vanagon. A few others parked below the junction.

the stairway is there - the cab is closed - - you should have a vehicle with high ground clearence for the road to the trailhead.
