north to south
We hiked in October 2009 from North Rim to South Rim. Our car was at South Rim...we took the 5 hour shuttle ride to begin at the North Rim staying overnight in one of the cabins. Don't miss Ribbon Falls..it's off the trail but worth the visit.
The next year I went back in May...

boots and ropes
Years ago in November we used a pair of size 13 wading boots that we each took turns stepping into, once across, tied a rope around them and threw them across Indian Pass Brook for the next person to use. Took 9 of us about 30 minutes to do this "system" but it worked.

My parents lived in Phoenix for over 30 years so I've been up Camels Hump a few times. First time I ever had to wait in line, in a car, to hike. Not exactly a wilderness experience.
A neat hike I did with my brother was a loop to Weaver's Needle. Total different experience back...

I'd call and make a report to the local police. I had a friend who's backpack was stolen on the side of the Long Trail. He called police and did get it back. Kids!
