WHITE MTS- Easy hike with a view?

Try Mt Willard near the Highland Center. Excellent views with little effort required. A real nice hike for a novice. Enjoy the trip wherever you go. Don

Beta Please, N Twin Trail to N Twin to S Twin to Galehead Hut

For this weekend, 5/31, will snowshoes be needed between N & S Twin? Hoping to not need them, but will take them if needed. Will stabilicers or micro spikes be enough traction for this hike? Is the road to the N Twin trailhead still gated? Thanks in advance.

GPS Co-ords for Owls Head Black Pond Buskwack

Does anyone have the GPS co-ords for the Black Pond Bushwack? Will be trying it in about a week and would like to have them "just in case". Is the bushwack fairly dry? I did it a few years ago and seem to remember some wet spots. Thanks Don

    Wildcat Ridge from Rt. 16

It will probably take longer than you think. Leave yourself plenty of time. Crampons will probably be needed, maybe snowshoes (although I haven't been there recently). Have fun! :D :D :D

    "Uh-oh" Moments

Recently on a hike with a group of about 10. One person decides to go another way down and agrees to meet us. Of course, that person gets lost. Spend about 2 hours trying to locate her, some of the main group weren't too happy. Anyways, person found. All is well that ends well I guess. But...

    Chafing...again.

Try REI for the bodyglide. That solved the chafing problem for me along with some polypro boxers. :D :D :D

    Gulf Hagas help

Be sure to pack the Deet. The mosquitoes are man eaters. In the past few years, they were the worst I have come across.
