    Watson looked unbroken, and I imagine the same for Daniel Webster. Howker Ridge was awesome,several great views, but has a few short,steep scrambles. Allow extra time, and bring snowshoes. Have fun. :)

    Try calling Gary at www.evansonthecommon.com in Townsend,MA (less than an hour from where you are). 866.597.5117. They do some repairs there, and send others out. Great service and neat store. I know of a similar drop off service in Greenfield, but that may be too far for you.

    Most, not all, private and public campgrounds in MA,VT, and NH do not open until just before Memorial day. You could try a BP to one of the shelters on the AT in the Berkshires or just over the line in VT, that would be about two hours from Boston. I think the cabins are open at Mohawk Trail...
