I absolutely agree with that, the trail/path along Chitistone Gorge is just breathtaking. For Alaska I would also personally add Mt Healy trail via Bison Gulch, Rainbow Ridge, and Mt Prindle.

I'm totally against a North Maine Woods Natl Park, agree with the others about a National Forest being a better option. Yeah, unpaved would be a more accurate description for that area.
