The Alpinist has a good summary of things so far this year. I'm counting four deaths, not three, but maybe I missed something.

I used to climb with the guide, Dave S. and even 20 years ago he was considered one of the very best on the mountain. He did the 2nd successful winter solo of Denali but upped the ante by doing it on the West Rib. Dave's a curmudgeonly crank but I would trust my life to him. Guess it goes to show how quickly things can fall apart on big mtns.
