Unfortunately I forgot to take it with me and its still there on top of the trail sign (anyone finds it send me...

congrats! We have followed your trip reports and are amazed at your accomplishments. Like averagejoe said, start writing a book and looking for publishers. Maybe Alex can become rich, retire at an exceptionally early age and hike for the rest of her life!:D...

    North and South Hancock

Took Hancock Notch, Cedar Brook , Hancock Loop Trails. Perfect clear day and trails were as if they were cleared with a snow blower. Bare booted to beginning of North Loop then used crampons the rest of the way. Coming down from South peak I was glad I had the crampons because without them...

    Mt Tripyramid 11/7/09

Late post. We took Pine Bend Brook trail to North Tripyramid. We skipped going to South Tripyramid because of a late start and early sundown. About 1/4 an inch of snow made it a little slick in spots. Beautiful day low 30's, some good views. It was fun trying out the new headlamps on the way down.

    South Crocker and Redington

AT from CVR to South Crocker and herd path to Redington and back. Skipped Crocker as it was getting late and starting to fog in upon my return to South Crocker. Only good views were late morning from talus fields towards the Bigalows. CV Road bridges require care in driving over. I have a...

    Mt Welch and Dickey

Welch-Dickey Loop Trail Today I got a late start around 1:30 pm. Not the best time of day to start a hike but it's not going to stop me. The trail was nice and not very hard. Towards the top of Mt Welch the rock ledges were a bit slippery and caused some falls:mad:. After the top of Welch I...

    Goose Eye and Carlo 10/21

Went up Goose Eye Trail . The steep rock scramble near the top is now second option to the path bypassing it which was a good thing because there was a little snow and ice lingering and I didn't want to fall and not get up as I was solo.. Great VFTT except Presidentials were clouded in...

    Favorite 'Rainy Day' Hikes?

East Osceola wouldnt be a bad hike for rainy days, although there is a cliff with a real nice view. Tecumseh would be good but there is somewhat of a view on top.

There is always a minority that ruins it for the majority. I hope they do something soon to get things hike-able again.

Is Burning Wood Bad for the Environment?

Its not as bad as you may think. Burning wood puts co2 captured in the tree back into the air. But when you drive your putting a lot of new co2 into the air.
