Headed to Acadia today. With fresh inch or two of snow trails were treacherous. There wasn't much snow under the fresh stuff but LOTS of ice. Our traction devices balled up making them work overtime and occasionally fail.
We started up Bald, over to Parkman, Gilmore, Sargent, and Penobscot. We used Parkman Mtn. Trail, Bald Peak Tr, Grandgent, Sargent South Ridge Penobscot Mtn Trail, Hadlock Book Tr. It was beautiful with the fresh snow, cool with a fairly strong breeze on the open summits. We didn't see another person all day. As always the views were stunning. Some places it was almost full on crampon conditions (we didn't bring them) and the ice was often hidden by the snow. I have some pics posted on my blog. http://tomcatoutdoors.blogspot.com/2013/02/icy-day-in-acadia-national-park.html
