Date: Monday, December 22nd
Trails: Airline, Airline Cut-off, Gulfside, Osgood & Valley Way
Special Equipment: Light traction, poles, snowshoes?
Trail Conditions / Comments: Everything is broken out and packed down. We wore micro-spikes from the car to car although light snowshoes could have been useful in some areas. The ridge going up to Adams could not have been in any better condition and with Adams in sight and out of the clouds it was a perfect day to ascend. Very little wind on the summit and views of Jefferson, Washington and Madison peaks were all visible out of the clouds which were south and east of Adams. As we descended to Madison Hut, we hit cloud cover, dropped our bags at the Hut and ascended Madison in the clouds and then above them and had same conditions and views atop of Madison. It was imply an incredible day to bag both peaks on 1st day of winter. We are all still smiling.
