First I want to thank all of the people that have spent many hours and a lot of effort to clear the trails from the effects of Irene. Those workers and volunteers make all hikers lives better.

And Christine, you wrote a wonderful article. Thanks Peakbager for calling our attention to it.

Christine keeps lots of trails and herd paths cleared and opened. Pretty much single handedly keeps open one of the Hurricane Mt trails that DEC would have closed 5 years ago. And she worked on Lillian Brook to clear and open the path to the Dix Range ridge over a 5 year period of time.
She's too reticent to tell you about this stuff but I'm not.

Peakbagr, you are very kind, but a number of climbers are constantly helping Gary Koch and me on “our” trails. Notably our friend Ed Bunk, who parted for higher mountains February 2009, was with us working very hard, most of the initial seven days it took to re-open Lillian Brook historical routes.
