Conditions: Trail was packed until about 300 feet below the summit, and then we broke trail the rest of the way. About 6 inches of snow at the start, and about 12 inches of snow or more near the summit. Temperatures were comfortable in the trees, but when we reached the exposed rocky summit, it was very windy and frigid. Rock summit was covered with thin ice and caused some concern.

Equipment needed: we wore snow shoes all the way, and they were definitely needed as we started ascending. Ice in places, particularly at the summit, but our MSR snowshoes were sufficient.

Comments: Overcast day, quiet woods draped in fluffy snow. Unbelievable panoramic views from the top, however we didn't linger at the summit due to unbelievable wind and cold. Overall, a perfect hike.
