Zman and I decided to hike the first mile of the Beaver Brook Trail just so we could witness the spectacular display of cascades along that segment of trail. We had no intentions on this particular day of hiking the full length of the trail to the summit of Mt. Moosilauke.
Our destination was solely to the area along the trail known as the Beaver Brook Cascades.
For the mile or so segment of trail that we hiked, there were no blowdowns of any consequence. Although some very mild mannered rock-hopping was involved, all the non-bridged water crossings were very doable. We only encountered one small patch of lingering ice on the trail. It was perhaps an 8 foot stretch, and presented no real issue.
We certainly were NOT disappointed with the venue we chose! It was quite an exhibition! Some photos are located at my BLOG.
