Does anybody know of a website that deals with peak lists all over the country/world (e.g. NH 48, ADK 46, NE 115, 5000 meter peaks)??? I like to hike in WV also as it is close to where I live and is a nice place to fill the gaps in between my trips up north, but am unable to find a list for that state.

Thanks,

Dom

Most of the lists on americasroof.com were produced by making queries to the GNIS (Geographic Names Information System) database. As its name indicates, it is a database of named objects. So any peak without a name will not be on it. Furthermore it does not take prominence into account, so any bump which has a name is on it.

The WV list is different; Ivan Ashe derived it the old fashioned way by looking at quads. Hard work, but gives meaningful results.
