I was up in the Alpine Garden on Mount Washington yesterday (June 2) and the smoke haze is pretty much gone now from that area. Skies were clear and sunny up top.

We were hiking Tecumseh on Sunday...we noted a lot of campers and camp fires in the am form the Tripoli road so, when we smelled the smokey smells about 2 miles into our hike, we didn't think of anything. However, when we got up Tecumseh...and then the top of the ski slopes...and SAY the haze and smelled it even more. We both got a little worried...we hadn't heard the news yet and thought that maybe one of the fires off the Tripoli road had ignited something. I wanted OFF the mountain (and was going over emergency procedures if we were to get caught in a fire on the way down)...by the time we got back to the summit of Tecumseah, we'd met another hiker who mentioned the fires in Canada. OH!! ok...now we can stay here an enjoy.

Here is a picture of the Tripyramids from the Tecumseh summit...and another from the top of the ski slopes.

Stopped at Pinkham AMC Sun am to check weather on way to Old Spec. Smoke in PN, none at Old Spec.

Driving back home on Mon, had smoke all the way to within 20 miles of the Atlantic in RI where the southerly on-shore breeze took over.
