We got to the trailhead at about 9:30 this morning and took our time going up the mountain. The trail was well-packed and easy to follow. Three of us wore snowshoes and a forth wore crampons. It was pretty cold and windy near the top.
We stopped for a much appreciated cup of hot chocolate at the tramway lodge. We didn't bother to climb the observatory at the summit. It was much too cold and windy for that.
I butt-slid most of the way down and got back to the car in what must have been record time. We were back in the car by 1pm. I didn't check the thermometer this morning before the hike, but when we got back at 1pm it read 8 degrees. I'm sure it was colder than that this morning.
