Cannon via Kinsman Ridge Trail: 3-1-14
Trail Conditions: The trail is well packed consolidated snow and some small patches of ice on the final ascent. The trail is a very well packed down but there are a few post holes from bare-booters who wandered off to the sides. There aren't enough post holes to compromise the conditions.
Special Equipment Required: I wore MSR Evo Ascents from car to car. Currently microspikes would suffice but if you wander off-center you may end up in a spruce trap.
Comments: It was great to hike a 4K again. This was my first 4K after an injection from an orthopedic surgeon and a special delivery from the stork.
There are several tracks that meander on and off the trail below the tower. I finally used a few landmarks (boulders) and came upon the cairn, sorry if my tracks added to further confusion. Pretty windy but I never layered beyond my softshell.
