Trails & routes: AT for the Crockers, bushwack/herdpath to Redington, trails to Caribou Valley, short bushwack to AT, AT & spurs for Spaulding and Sugarloaf, then the service road to ski area base. Altogether, the maintained trails were found to be in good shape, no ice or problem areas. The bushwack routes were straightforward enough.
Special equip.: no hardware needed other than stamina for a long day, topo map, compass/GPS, and a sense of direction. A few thick spots on the bushwacks. [fyi: vehicle with good clearance recommended for Caribou Pond Road]
Other: outstanding sunset views & hues from the Sugarloaf summit after being in the woods all day!
