Date of Hike: Sept. 12-13, 2015

Trail Conditions: We took the Dry River Trail down from the Lakes of the Clouds Hut through Oakes Gulf. It was clear that it is very lightly used (it is maintained as a primitive trail). From there until Dry River Shelter #3, the trail was overgrown, muddy, vary narrow and contained a lot of blow down that was not cleared away and that you needed to go over or underneath. The trail was relatively easy to follow for seasoned hikers even though it is not marked. I would only recommend this trail if you are looking for something remote and don't mind primitive trail conditions. Dry River Shelter #3 is in great condition and I doubt very many people bother to go back there and use it. We hiked back to the Mizpah Hut from the Shelter - Dry River Trail was still quite narrow and muddy past the shelter.

Special Equipment Required: Gaiters were useful since it had rained and the trail was overgrown.
