I got up this morning and there was snow coating the yard at the Randolph Gorham line. It was 26 degrees. Madison was in the clouds for most of the morning but its starting to clear up after noon and the summits are definitely snow covered. This usually occurs around late Sept to early Oct so its about 2 weeks late. I drove over to Lancaster and the leaves are definitely getting past peak with a lot of bare trees although in some valleys the sugar maples are still green. By the looks of the summits I expect it would be nasty day. The other reminder of winter coming was wet looking patches on the road that were ice.
