Went up to Flat Mountain Pond yesterday from Bennett St. via Bennett St. Trail And Flat Mountain Pond Trail and back the same. Only minor mud patches, trail in good shape but did lose the trail 3 times. Immediate backtracking solved the problem each time, but had to really stop and look around a couple of times. There's no sign pointing out F.M.P. Trail at intersection with Bennett St. Trail. But description in WM guide book makes it pretty obvious. Saw 2 people at the pond while I was there, and 4 others towards the end of day, the rest of the time it was just me and the dogs.
Noticed some pretty good sized leeches in the pond. Decided to just stay on shore, thank you.
