Date Hiked: 1-7-2010
Equipment needed: ski poles, didn't need snowshoes. Had Microspikes in our packs, but didn't use them.
Beautiful, clear day We went into the hemlock snowy woods from below the Crocker School. Had not hiked there since 2004. Followed the Swamp Path to the White Birch Trail and on to Scott Road and the Lightning Path. We were amused to be following the Pig Pen Path to the Laurel Trail, returning on the Hemlock Hill trail to Pig Pen, Main Path and back to our car. We enjoyed these beautiful snowy woods, which are a nice alternative to a long car drive.
