Trail Conditions: From TH: Less than 1' of hard packed with some fresh powder; on ridge: approaching 2' hard packed with 5" recent powder. Some wet areas. Stream crossings partially open, no issues. Firm snow off trail for the couple of significant blowdowns. No fresh tracks on Garfield Ridge Trail east of Garfield Trail Junction.
Special Required Equipment: Traction recommended. Light traction would suffice. Snowshoes worked well. Crampons worked somewhat better than snowshoes on steep sections of GRT.
Comments: There were 3 groups of 8 or more doing this hike today, plus a few others. Lots of smiling faces! Parking was adequate.
