Hancock Notch, Sawyer River, Sawyer Pond trails, 14.1 miles, 1250' elevation gain (11 miles on Kanc)
No peaks, lots of redlining.
Trail Conditions: Muddy & wet but feet stayed dry. Downed trees, especially on southern end of Sawyer Pond Trail.
Trail east of Hancock Notch difficult to follow, as expected. NO blazes, some welcome flagging in most difficult areas.
Only one crossing without boots - the last one over the Swift River was more than knee deep.
Special Equipment Required: none
Comments: Post-Irene rerouting on Sawyer River Trail nicely done. Met no one in 7.8 miles between Hancock peak baggers and Sawyer Pond Campsite.
