When we heard about the traffic jams we got some info from locals. We were told to go into Newport and could walk into the show from there. We were warned about a long walk of six miles. My wife and I laughed and went big deal six miles on flat terrain.
On went the hiking boots and backpacks. Left the car at two and had seats in the venue at 4.30, that includes waiting to get wrist bands and weaving through traffic.
In the venue our hiking boots kept us warm,dry and safe. They aren't the best for dancing but we don't have to worry about infections from manure.
Our head lamps helped us weave throught the crowds and not step on any toes.
