Pffft... everyone has a lean-to in there backyard these days. Why not invest in a firetower instead?

I drove by this place a few months ago. 'Some assembly required' would never have been more appropriate!

The DEC cut and assembled ours off site, marked it up, and gave us a cheat sheet. They they disassembled it, and trucked it up the old dirt road near the lean-to. The rest was pretty much up to us, with a Ranger on site to oversee us. But, once he saw that we were all working as a team, he joined right in to lift a log, or swing a hammer.

I'll be retired next year, I'd love to help build lean-tos.

Now if only I can fit one in my backyard! ummm... a fire tower?
