trails: davis path, mt. isolation spur, mt. davis spur, stairs spur, crawford spur

conditions: below crawford spur davis path was generally dry and mud free. beyond that wet and mud and slippery rocks/roots were prevalent. that said trail is in good shape. i removed/limbed some blowdown along the way, but some, particularly the larger ones, still remain. trail growing in a bit in sections which made for a wet and cold morning brushing against the damp spruce/fir. the various spur paths are all in fine shape. the one water crossing of note just past the wilderness boundary on davis path was not a problem.

equipment: nothing in particular.

comments: real nice day. have wanted to hike to isolation via davis path from crawford notch for a while and it was a good day for it. was my first time on the section of the trail from stairs to isolation and it made for some nice wet walking. mt. davis is a real gem. will have to return to explore the ledges beyond the trail someday. nice to revisit stairs and crawford on the way out. dropped down to resolution shelter as well. it's still there though done up with pink tape. had a nice conversation with one of the residents that lives next to the saco at the base of davis path. they had quite an experience during irene as a look at the woods in that area will quickly make clear. great to be out.
