Lower section are all bare rocks, no need for any traction; starting from before the last river crossing, deep snow/post-holing, snow shoes recommended. No crampons/spikes necessary.
River crossing: deep and cold water. Recommend taking off boots and roll up pants. It's possible to hop over on rocks, but rocks are sometimes under water, and sometimes it's safer to wade through knee-deep water.
Following trail: takes a lot of effort to keep track of trail, especially after the last river crossing. No markers on tree, no trail signs at cross with Davis path. A lot of falling trees make it hard to recognize trail sometimes.
