Date of Hike: Sunday 8/29/2010
Trail Conditions: Airline and Short Line to King Ravine were in good shape.
King Ravine, well, King Ravine is a jungle gym, as it should be , forever more. The King Ravine trail was thankfully dry and the Elevated was enough fun for us - we skipped Subway. Airline, the cutover and Valley Way on the way down, were pretty much as expected. The upper and middle parts of the Valley Way was wet and sloppy, just as one would expect, given the proximity to Watson brook, etc. Only one blowdown on the lower part of the Valley way.
Special Equipment Required: A good sense of adventure and gumby-like flexibility are helpful on the way up King Ravine headwall.Poles were helpful for brusied legs and ankles on the way down.
Comments: It was very windy on the last 4/10 mile up Airline to Mt Adams, all of us got clobbered, esp on the way down, when it seemed atad more gusty.
