I did a winter summit of North and South Kinsman on Jan 4. Like most, I went up and down from the Lafayette Place Campground. There were a few places along the Fishin' Jimmy trail where there is ice over some boulders and ledges, so some might want traction there. But I was able to bare boot it all the way up and down without problems. Trail is generally hard packed with some loose granular on top.

Wow! I wouldn't have wanted to bare boot it last weekend and was super happy to have my stabilicers!
