conditions - bike path from the Basin almost completely bare, bushwhack all snow free. Monorail could be avoided until after the 3rd crossing. Then it was pretty much snow covered until returning. Mostly frozen granular snow. Open spots on ridge between peaks softened up in the sun but remained bootable.
equipment - I used poles and microspikes once the monorail was continuous.
comments - on descent, near tent platforms I met a group of two young couples out without any traction & only one or two packs for the group. They seemed to be doing fine in the great weather.
