Livermore Trail to Height-of-Land / Old Skidder Trail -- mountain biking
Trail Conditions: Generally very good. Evidence of recently-cleared blow-downs up above North Slide. A few washed out areas -of no concern to hikers but requiring a little bit of forethought if you're coming down fast.
Special Equipment Required: None. Weather was surprisingly benign with no rain. Bugs were very light compared to last week, too. Well, OK, a little extra water might have been in order. It was muggy out there.
Comments: Great day for a long climb -- comfortable temps and relatively few bugs to inhale while panting under load. Saw several hikers headed up or coming down, presumably doing the Tripyramid Loop, including one couple hiking with two handsome standard poodles (though this begs the question of whether anyone would ever hike with non-standard poodles). Lots of moose sign between Scaur Ridge and Old Skidder.
