Pine Link from trailhead to Madison Hut. Osgood to Madison summit. Watson Path to Brookside Trail. Brookside to Kelton Trail. Kelton to Howker Ridge and out at Randolph East.

Pine Link is in great shape. Watson Path has a trail-filling blowdown near its lower end; also a severely eroded section where a large rock has worked loose. Kelton Trail has a few minor blowdowns on the section between Dome Rock and Brookside.

Minimal bugs on the ascent but there was a stiff breeze all day Saturday ... very welcome! Black flies picked up on the lower quarter of the mountain.

Bit of a mistake descending Watson Path, which is very steep and slippery in the lower sections ... brutal on 57 yr. old knees that haven't done much rock hopping recently, and so were pretty rubbery. But a great day nonetheless!
