The wife and I headed up a wet Moosilauke on Saturday via Beaver Brook Trail. It was drizzling when we parked at the trailhead off 112 and was glad to see it was free parking for the day (NH 'get out doors day')! Anyway, as the sign reads, 'turn back or die!', well, not really, but it is true that you better know what you're doing before traversing the first 1.5 miles of which were quite slippy from all the rain and waterfall mist. Thankfully, the precipitation abated quickly and once past the falls section, made good time up, despite the slick conditions. The peak was socked in with fog unfortunately, but still impressive. Saw a good bunch of folks on the way up while we were on the way down (slowly and cautiously). As for wildlife, Other than a few Red spotted Newts that was about it. All in all a great hike despite the conditions and one more 4k to knock off the list!
