Up via Asquam Ridge and Beaver Brook Trails; down via Carriage Road and Snapper Trail.
Date of Hike: Sat. May 24
Trail Conditions: Surprisingly dry; a little mud and running water here and there and a few stretches of rotten monorail, which is easily navigated. Lots of surveyor's ribbon on Asquam Ridge, meaning the DOC has plans for the summer.
Special Equipment Required: Nothing. I wore shorts and mesh trail runners and they were perfect. Never even put on my windshirt!
Comments: the road is in great shape, as are all the trails. The weather was great, with decent views between the passing clouds. I can't remember the last time I had lunch on top without even putting a jacket! The only downers were the toppled cairns and the wimpy temporary summit sign.
Great day to be out walking around in the woods!
