Date of Hike: 5/15/09
Trail Conditions: Stony Brook snow-free, some insignificant mud, water crossings easy. Carter-Moriah had notable snow visible southwards, I didn't explore. C-M was snow-free up to Moriah south ledges, but then had increasing snow pack headed towards Moriah summit, with a half dozen stretches of unavoidable rotting monorail, never quite long enough to put on traction.
Special Equipment Required: I used: sunblock, poles, sense of humor. I carried but did not use: microspikes, fleece, bug stuff, sandals. Ah, spring!
Comments: First time out for VFTT shirt! Three-state views from the summit, dramatic view of northern Pressies and Great Gulf, kind of hazy into Vermont.
