IN two weeks I'll be spending a week in the northern Lake George region and was wondering how the mosquitoe activity has been? I know I'll get out and do some hiking but I also wanted to bring the kids on some shorter ones but when the bugs are bad that is more effort than it's worth.

Can't speak for Lake George right now, but the bugs in the West Canada Lakes are still bad enough that sleeping without a bug net isn't an option. Also still seeing a significant number of Black Flies. Lake George is a bit lower in elevation, so conditions might be better, but this is definitely an epic year for biting insects.
