My wife and I climbed Colden via Lake Arnold Saturday. We went up and back the same way. Minimal snow down low. As we approached Lake Arnold there was a nice 3-4 " of snow on top of the snowcrete.
Somehow we managed to avoid the high winds that hit everybody else yesterday. 55 mph winds were forecast, but we didn't find them. Oh well, there is always next time.
Lots of people out having great trips. Lot of of backpackers camping.
Took us about 6 hours at Leesa's comfortable pace. Gray skys, but good visibility. Warm temps, right around 32 degrees F. Nice day!
