Mt Garfield via Garfield & Garfield Ridge trails

01/25/14 - 6:45 A to 1:00 P - (snow started falling around 9:00)

Trail Conditions: Gale River road was 'groomed' by snowmobile traffic with a couple inches of granular snow and an easy walk. Garfield trail was also easy going, with a little drifting/blowing snow over 3,900', Garfield Ridge trail and the final 2/10 to the summit was no problem.

Bare boot and micro-spikes worked fine today, but if the area gets the 3" they predict this afternoon the next few days would be great for snowshoes. Water crossings all bridged over.

9 degrees and 35-45 mph winds at the summit with low visibility made for a quick stay on top.
